About The Integration
The integration between Open Health Hub and Nexus enables structured, standards-based data exchange while preserving existing clinical workflows. Open Health Hub acts as an interoperability layer around Nexus, supporting patient and professional forms, hybrid care pathways, and cross-organizational data exchange alongside the EHR. Structured data is captured and orchestrated outside the Nexus environment and exchanged securely using FHIR standards. This allows healthcare organizations to extend Nexus with digital intake, monitoring, and networked care scenarios, while Nexus remains the central clinical system. The result is improved data quality, reduced administrative burden, and faster implementation of hybrid and regional care pathways without adding complexity to the core EHR.
How To Connect This
The integration with Nexus is already live in a Dutch hospital setting. Open Health Hub is designed to align with Nexus environments and common interoperability patterns used in Dutch healthcare, enabling practical, real-world connectivity. The connection is configured through the Open Health Hub admin and settings environment. Secure FHIR-based connectivity, identity and access controls, and governance settings are set up in a controlled and transparent way, without project-heavy customization. This approach allows organizations and partners to build on a proven integration and adopt it in a controlled manner, while maintaining security, compliance, and interoperability standards.
