About The Integration
The integration between Open Health Hub and Medicom enables structured, standards-based interoperability around patient-facing and clinical GP systems. Medicom is the vendor behind platforms such as MedGemak and gezondheids.net, which are widely used in Dutch primary care for patient communication and digital interaction. Open Health Hub complements Medicom’s platforms by acting as the interoperability layer behind these patient-facing channels. Patient questionnaires, digital intake, and hybrid care interactions can be delivered through Medicom-supported portals, while Open Health Hub ensures that all data is captured in a structured way and exchanged using FHIR standards. This allows GP practices and care networks to reuse patient-provided data across consultations, care pathways, and collaborating care partners, while Medicom systems remain the foundation for daily clinical and patient-facing workflows.
How To Connect This
Open Health Hub is designed to align with Medicom-based environments and common interoperability patterns used in Dutch primary care. The integration could be easily integrated using a configuration-driven approach that fits existing architectures. The connection is configured through the Open Health Hub admin and settings environment. From there, integration settings, access control, and governance are managed in a clear and controlled way, without project-heavy customization. This approach allows organizations to connect Medicom-supported platforms to interoperable care workflows in a controlled manner, supporting use cases such as digital intake and hybrid care pathways, while maintaining security, compliance, and interoperability standards appropriate for Dutch primary care.
